Increasing Security for Haynes International
For over 100 years, Haynes International has been manufacturing high-performance cobalt- and nickel-based alloys used in the aerospace, chemical processing, and gas turbine industries. Headquartered in Kokomo, Indiana, Haynes has eight plants and employs more than 1,070 people worldwide. To increase security at their Kokomo facility, the company needed to update their surveillance system, adding more cameras and investing in a more robust video management system.
This case study discusses the solution that Haynes adopted. New Arecont Vision cameras were installed to monitor the buildings, the guardhouse, parking lots, and the perimeter of the facility. Two exacqVision Z-Series servers were also installed, providing a high-performance, reliable system connecting 128 IP cameras with up to 80 terabytes of total storage. The system gives access to each department, but only for their areas of interest, and security staff can monitor traffic flow around the plant. Overall, the system has improved company operations and eased the job of guards.
