Connecticut’s Foxwoods Casino Resort—one of the largest casino resorts in the world—features a complex covering 4.7 million square feet and including six casinos. Operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, Foxwoods is a popular destination, with more than 40,000 guests visiting the complex each day. With such a high volume of traffic, the casino resort needed an advanced electronic security solution. To that end, the venue undertook a significant upgrade to its massive video surveillance system.

This case study looks at the Foxwoods project, which included converting to digital recording from analog—the largest digital video upgrade ever accomplished—and building a state-of-the-art control room, all while keeping day-to-day security intact. Another benefit of the project was learning and documenting how to plan for future expansion, from labeling every cable to adding empty racks and oversizing electrical and cooling systems.
