Johnson Controls India – Global Center for Excellence (GCOE) embarked on a journey to make the world a better place through deeds that will impact the lives of many during these testing times. This was achieved under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives carried out by Johnson Controls India at various locations.
The initiative focuses on addressing fundamental challenges such as hunger, poverty and malnutrition, as well as encouraging community healthcare, including preventive healthcare facilities, which encompass our ethos of serving society and enabling them with healthy and safe living.
With society under distress due to COVID-19, GCOE India actively engaged in helping causes across the country with donations amounting to more than $155,000 to the PM Cares Government Relief Fund.
To achieve the above objectives, GCOE India partnered with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to provide various charitable services to improve society's well-being and bring a smile to some of the communities across the country. Our employees across multiple GCOE India centers volunteered and worked alongside the partnering NGOs to contribute valuable services under the CSR umbrella to help members of our community who are severely affected by the pandemic.
The team collaborated with three NGOs: Ekansh Trust, Aahwahan Foundation and Aashray Durg Charitable Organization. For Ekansh Trust & Aahwahan Foundation, the team provided dry rations and cooked food for 6,000 families in Pune & Satara – Maharashtra & Tiruvallur District in Tamil Nadu. Additional support was also provided to 150 families with disabled members.
As for the Aashray Durg Charitable Organisation, GCOE India successfully carried out early-cancer-detection screenings and medical camps in the tribal areas of the Nandurbar district of Maharashtra.
These initiatives served as a reminder of the importance of community partnership, volunteering and working as One Team. The widespread positive impact GCOE India had across the country has inspired many local employees to get more involved as additional volunteer and community-involvement activities are planned.
